TROOP POLICIES

Troop 1G Electronics Policy

The purpose of this policy is to help scouts stay engaged, participate fully, and be present during troop activities.

Electronics are not to be used for entertainment during troop activities unless specifically approved by the SPL or the Scoutmaster.

This includes:

  • Phones

  • Earbuds or headphones

  • Speakers

  • Gaming devices

  • Tablets or laptops used for entertainment

Electronics should not replace participation in troop activities or interaction with the troop.

Approved uses may include:

  • Advancement or scouting-related work

  • Navigation or weather

  • Photography

  • Emergency communication

  • Other uses approved by troop leadership

Scouts are expected to keep electronics put away during meetings, activities, campouts unless given permission to use them.

Gaming, videos, music, social media, and other entertainment use are not permitted during troop activities unless specifically approved by troop leadership.


Behavior Policy

Every scout and adult in Troop 1G is expected to live by the Scout Oath, Law and Outdoor Code. The Scout Oath and the Scout Law are the basis for the following rules that have been established and should be the basis for all Scout members’ actions. In addition to the expectations in this document all policies and procedures written in the Boy Scout Guide to Safe Scouting document apply as well.

  1. I will behave in accordance with the Scout Law and Oath at all times. A Scout is trustworthy loyal, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.

  2. When properly instructed/directed by an adult or junior leader to do or not to something I will follow the instructions/directive given to me.
